PRūF Data API terms
Effective September 30, 2026 · Version 2026-10-04.1
1. Service and account
These terms govern PRūF Data API subscriptions, downloads and data dashboards supplied by PRUF LABS LLC ("PRūF"). They are separate from the PRūF mobile app subscription. You may use your existing PRūF account, but app access does not include a Data API subscription. If you subscribe for an organization, you must be authorized to act for it.
Keep API keys private and use them on your server. You are responsible for your account's use, including use by your employees and contractors. Do not share keys with unrelated customers or organizations. You can revoke keys in your account; contact support@prufapp.com if a key is exposed.
2. Permitted uses
With an active paid subscription, you may use the delivered data for internal research, analytics, and commercial applications, including displaying individual menu-item facts to your application's users. You may cache data and create derived analyses. Keep dates and qualifications with displayed facts, and identify PRūF as the data provider with a link to prufapp.com in your application's data-source information or research methods.
You may not redistribute our bulk downloads, sell a raw copy of the dataset, or expose an API that passes through substantially the same dataset without a separate written agreement. This restriction concerns the service and files delivered under this agreement; PRūF does not claim exclusive ownership of public facts or prevent independently obtained factual information from being used lawfully. No restaurant endorsement, trademark license, image rights or rights to republish source documents are provided.
3. Subscription and billing
Intelligence costs $399 per month or $3,588 per year, charged in advance in USD, plus applicable taxes shown before payment. Annual billing is one $3,588 charge, equivalent to $299 per month. The subscription renews for the same billing period until canceled. Price changes take effect at a future renewal after advance notice; you may cancel before the new price applies.
Intelligence is the paid Data API offering. It includes weekly releases, the menu explorer, API access, JSON/CSV downloads, food-additive policy data, ingredient comparisons, saved analyses and research exports. Fields include ingredient text, nutrition, serving details and allergen disclosures. API, dashboards and MCP use the data available in the same dated releases. No daily update service is offered.
Earlier subscriptions retain their agreed price, billing period and access unless a change is separately agreed or takes effect after advance notice under the applicable terms. The earlier Data offering is not available for new purchases.
Limits are shared across an account's keys: 30 requests per minute, 10,000 requests per calendar month and 30 downloads per calendar month. Each download also counts as one request. Monthly limits reset on the first day at 00:00 UTC. Dashboard browsing is included separately. There are no automatic overage charges; a request over the limit is refused until the limit resets.
4. Cancellation, payment failures and refunds
Paid access starts after payment is confirmed. Review the free sample, API documentation and published coverage before subscribing.
Once paid access is available, subscription fees, including renewal charges, are non-refundable for change of mind or unused time. This applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions. Billing errors, failure to provide the paid service and refunds required by law are exceptions. Contact support@prufapp.com so we can review any such issue. Nothing in this policy limits rights that applicable law requires us to provide.
Cancel through Account → Manage billing at any time before renewal to avoid the next charge. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your paid period, and you keep access until then. Contact support@prufapp.com if you cannot open billing management. Canceling does not itself issue a refund.
A failed renewal does not grant a new paid period. A full refund of the current paid period ends access; a partial refund leaves its paid-through date unchanged. An open payment dispute suspends access while it is resolved. If the dispute is resolved in PRūF's favor, access is restored when a valid paid period remains; a lost dispute does not restore access. These rules describe access changes, not automatic issuance of refunds.
5. Dated data and limitations
A release is a fixed snapshot of the restaurant records listed in its coverage. A weekly release does not mean every source was updated during that week. Each record retains its actual collection date; coverage and available fields can change. Do not present an old record as a current restaurant guarantee.
Ingredient alternatives, possible presence, undisclosed allergens and missing nutrition are preserved as stated in the data. An empty list or null value is not a finding that an allergen or ingredient is absent. Source links may be unavailable. Restaurant preparation and cross-contact can differ by location and change without notice. The data is not medical advice, an allergy-safety determination or a legal-compliance certification.
We supply the service as available, without a guaranteed uptime percentage or a guarantee that every field is complete, accurate or current. Report suspected errors to support@prufapp.com with the item and snapshot IDs, without sending API keys.
6. After a subscription ends
Paid API access, subscriber downloads and the paid workspace stop when the paid period ends or access is otherwise suspended under these terms. Where available, a free trial remains limited to its trial datasets and allowances. You may retain previously obtained files for internal records and reproducible research. Analyses and publications you already created may remain published. Using our retained bulk data to continue supplying a commercial product after your subscription ends requires a separate written agreement. These restrictions do not apply to information independently obtained from other sources.
7. Free sample and workspace trial
The free Baja Fresh download remains a one-time dated sample. Where available, the free workspace trial requires a verified account and includes dated Baja Fresh and McAlister’s Deli menus, comparisons, menu exploration, saved analyses and JSON/CSV exports. The trial does not grant access to other restaurant datasets, subscriber history, API keys, MCP connections or automatic updates. Ask PRūF model responses are not yet available.
Trial browsing is limited to 12 requests per minute and 500 requests per UTC day per account. Trial data downloads and research exports share an allowance of 5 downloads per UTC day. Network limits also apply to prevent automated abuse. Trial allowances are separate from paid allowances, with no automatic charges. You may use the sample and trial data for internal evaluation and noncommercial research and share selected factual excerpts with PRūF attribution and the sample date, but not redistribute the full files or use them as the data feed for a commercial product without a paid subscription or written agreement. The same data limitations apply.
8. Availability, suspension and responsibility
We may suspend access for exposed credentials, abuse, nonpayment, disputes or a material violation of these terms. We will explain the issue and provide a way to contact support where reasonably possible. A canceled subscription or suspension does not remove rights that applicable law requires us to provide.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, PRūF's total liability relating to this service is limited to Data API fees you paid during the 12 months before the claim. Neither party is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, to the extent permitted by law. These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including fraud or willful misconduct. You remain responsible for your product's own claims and decisions.
9. Changes and contact
We will give advance notice of material changes to these terms. Changes will not retroactively alter completed purchases; you can cancel before a future renewal. The website privacy policy describes account and billing-data handling. These API terms govern the paid data service; the app's personal-use-only restrictions and App Store cancellation instructions do not govern your API subscription.
